The Lindenwood women's volleyball team dropped a key match to Emporia State on Saturday afternoon by a final of 3-2 in Emporia, Kan.

The Lady Lions opened up the afternoon with a 25-23 win in the first set.Â
Jessica Krygsheld put up four kills, while
Allyson Clancy had 13 assists. Emporia State responded with a strong 25-16 win over Lindenwood in set two. The Lady Lions held a 7-3 lead to begin the second set, but could not keep a good rhythm throughout the set.

After the break the Lady Lions won set three 25-19 as Krygsheld tallied six kills. Set four was a back-and-forth battle as neither team led by more than two points until the final point for Emporia State, giving it a 25-22 win. Lindenwood could not get going in set five, and it fell 15-9.

Krygsheld finished the afternoon with 17 kills and five blocks.Â
Alex Dahlstrom compiled 13 kills and two blocks, while
Kayla Guyot had seven kills and four blocks with two service aces.Â
Sarah Makowski had a balanced afternoon with nine kills and six blocks, and Clancy dished out 47 assists.

With the loss Lindenwood is now 13-14 on the season and 4-11 in the MIAA. The Lady Lions will travel to Warrensburg, Mo. on Tuesday to take on No. 13 Central Missouri at 7 p.m.
