The Lindenwood men's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Quincy squad on Tuesday night at Hyland Arena as the Hawks downed the Lions by an 88-72 score.
Quincy came into the contest averaging just 6.0 three-pointers a game and shooting under 30 percent from behind the arc. Against the Lions, the Hawks knocked down 15 three-pointers and finished the game hitting 65.2 percent from three-point range.
The first two three-pointers by the Hawks started a 12-2 run early in the game which gave Quincy a 16-6 lead. Lindenwood would never get closer than eight points again as Quincy went on to lead 45-31 at half, and then outscored the Lions by two in the second half.
The Hawks finished the game shooting 51.8 percent from the field and they made 15-of-17 free throws. Lindenwood started out slow offensively, but still shot 47.1 percent for the game, including nearly 60 percent in the second half. The Lions made just three three-pointers though as they couldn't keep up from the outside with Quincy.

Stanislas Heili had a big game offensively, scoring a game-high 23 points. He was eight-of-nine from the field and seven-of-nine from the free-throw line. Heili also finished with eight rebounds, three blocks, and one steal.
Zachary Biggs had 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
Brad Newman was in double-figure scoring as well with 11, including nine-of-nine from the free-throw line, and he dished out four assists.
LJ McIntosh came off the bench to score eight points.
Lindenwood ends its non-conference portion of the schedule with a 4-2 record. The Lions begin conference play on Saturday with a 3 p.m. home game against Lincoln.
