Women's Basketball Begins MIAA Play on Saturday

Saturday's Game
-Lindenwood will host Lincoln (Mo.) in the MIAA opener on Saturday at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
 
-At the conclusion of the game, Lindenwood will honor Kassidy Gengenbacher for surpassing her 1,000th career point on November 17th against Missouri-St. Louis.
 
-The Lady Lions will come back from a 10-day break after a 70-46 win over McKendree on November 24th in Hyland Arena.
 
-Lincoln will visit St. Charles, Mo. with a 4-2 record after a slim 50-49 win over Rochurst on Saturday.
 
Lindenwood Notes
-Kassidy Gengenbacher is leading the team in points per game with 20.2 points, and averages a team-high 31.7 minutes per game.
 
-Charisse Williams is averaging a team-best 3.0 steals per game and has put up 10.8 points per game.  Williams has added a total of 20 assists this season along with 18 rebounds.
 
-Vanessa Zailo has snagged 7.3 rebounds per game while CeCe Rapp blocks 1.5 shots per game.
 
-Lindenwood is 4-0 when leading at halftime and it is 2-0 on Saturdays this season.  The Lady Lions are 15-for-21 at the free throw line in the final five minutes of the game.
 
-Lindenwood is just 1-5 against Lincoln since the 2012-13 season.  The Lady Lions defeated the Blue Tigers on February 22, 2014 in Hyland Arena by a final of 63-56.
 
-Last time out, Lincoln defeated Lindenwood 69-49 in Jefferson City, Mo. last season.  Jenny Rocha put up 17 points, while Gengenbacher tallied 14 points.
 
-In her two games against Lincoln, Zailo has grabbed 23 rebounds.  Gengenbacher has compiled 54 points in four games for an average of 13.5 per game.  Bre Zanders put up 12 points in her homecoming game against the Blue Tigers in Jefferson City, Mo. on February 6, 2014 during her freshman campaign.
 
Lincoln Notes
-The Blue Tigers are led by Zuri Hill who averages 18.8 points per game on .614 percent shooting from the field, and has grabbed 11.2 rebounds per game.  Hunter Yoakum is leading the team in assists with 19 and steals with eight.
 
-Lincoln holds a 4-2 record as it defeated Rockhurst 50-49 on Saturday.  The Blue Tigers are coached by Nicole Collier who is in her fourth season and holds a 32-53 career record.
 
-Lincoln will return to Jefferson City, Mo. after Saturday's game, and like Lindenwood, it will remain in their home town for four-straight games.
