On Saturday, Lindenwood's tennis teams traveled to Evansville, Ind. to play against the University of Southern Indiana. Both teams fell just short of coming out on top, as the women lost 5-4 and the men lost to the No. 28 ranked team 6-3.
Competing for the Lady Lions was
Clara Piccamiglio, who battled back to win, despite falling 6-0 in the first set. Paccamiglio went on to win the next two sets.
Mariona Pinol also bounced back after a first set loss. Diana Milan didn't lose her first set on the way to her 6-3, 6-3 victory. Piccamiglio and
Gloria Marras teamed together to give the Lady Lions their only doubles victory, 8-4.
For the men,
Filip Bogic scored a victory after winning 6-4, 6-4.
Naoufal El Idrissi scored the Lions another victory by his Southern Indiana opponent 6-4, 7-6. El Idrissi and
Slobodan Bavrlic teamed up to give Lindenwood an 8-6 doubles victory.
Coming up next for the Lindenwood tennis teams is a trip to Kansas City, Mo. to compete against Rockhurst University on February 28th.
