Lindenwood's women's tennis team fell 5-4, while the men's fell 7-2 in duals against Delta State University. The Lady Lions took Delta State to the third set three times, Delta State won two of them, which proved to be the difference.
Winning for the women in the singles was
Gloria Marras, who took care of business, winning 6-4, 6-4.
Clara Piccamiglio lost her first set, but battled back, winning 6-2 and 7-6 in the final sets.
Diana Castro recorded a win when her opponent retired. Castro and
Mariona Pinol teamed up to give Lindenwood a convincing doubles victory, winning 8-3. Despite the team's great effort, the Lady Lions fell 5-4.
For the men, Yoshi Ysa handled his adversary, defeating his opponent 6-1, 6-1. Naofal El Idrissi carried Ysa's momentum, defeating his opponent 6-4, 6-4 right after Ysa.
Slobodan Bavrlic took his opponent to a third set, but fell just short.
Filip Bogic came out strong, winning his first set 6-0 before falling in the other two sets.
Lindenwood's tennis teams will stay busy over Spring Break, moving onto a dual against Mississippi College tomorrow in Clinton, Miss.
