The Lindenwood baseball team lost 6-2 to Northwest Missouri State on Friday afternoon in Maryville, Mo.

The Lions surrendered one run in six of the Bearcat eight innings at the plate.  After falling behind 1-0 the Lions scored two runs in the top of the second on a Michael Bibbs single and the second when Zac Perkins grounded into a fielder's choice.  The Lions could not find any more runs in the ballgame as they left nine runners on base. 

The defense struggled as well by committing five errors.  Austin Klein was credited with the loss but allowed just six hits and five runs although only two runs were earned.  Klein struck out four batters in his five innings of work.  Dylan Terrell threw three innings in relief as he struck out three and allowed just one run.

The loss drops Lindenwood to 16-17 on the year and 8-10 in league play.  The Lions will complete the four-game series with Northwest Missouri State on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. in Maryville, Mo.
