Lindenwood hockey goalie
Nicole Hensley will participate in this week's inaugural U.S. Women's National Team Goaltending Development Camp. The camp will run from May 21-24 in Blaine, Minn.
The camp will consist of 18 of the top female goaltenders who are eligible for international play. Eight players are in college, eight in high school, and two have graduated college. Among the goalies participating is two-time Olympian Jessie Vetter.
Hensley attended the Warren Strelow National Team Goaltending Camp the last two summers. This week's female-specific camp replaces that camp for the top women's goalies in the United States. This change will allow more goalies to participate and to be introduced to a curriculum that is specific to the women's game.
Hensley set a school record last year with 10 wins. She had a .916 save percentage and a 2.71 GAA, and she recorded a total of 866. Hensley will be in her senior season next year for the Lady Lions.
