The Lindenwood women's volleyball team defeated MIAA opponent Pittsburg State by a final of 3-1 in Pittsburg, Kan. on Friday evening.
The Lady Lions opened their MIAA schedule on the road and played four strong sets. Set one opened with a dominating 25-15 win led by
Bailey Dvorak who hammered down nine kills. The Lady Lions took set two as well by a score of 25-23 and saw five different Lady Lions score double-digit kills including four by
Kayla Guyot.
Lindenwood fell in set three by a 25-21 final, but bounced back to close out the night with a statement. Dvorak again led the team with five kills while
Alex Dahlstrom scored four kills of her own giving the Lady Lions a 25-12 victory.
Sarah-Jane Pavlik dished out 53 assists and put up 11 digs.Â
Ivy Reynolds led the squad with 19 digs while
Sarah Makowski tallied seven blocks followed by Dvorak with six who also finished the night with 19 kills.
Lindenwood improves to 8-2 on the year and stand at 1-0 in the MIAA. The Lady Lions will travel to Edmond, Okla. to take on Central Oklahoma for a quick turn around on Saturday at 2 p.m.
