After receiving the last two CHA goalie of the week awards, it was announced on Thursday morning that Lindenwood women's hockey goaltender
Jolene deBruyn was tabbed as the CHA goalie of the month. This marks the second time in program history that a Lady Lion goaltender has won the award, as
Nicole Hensley received the honor in February of 2014.
For the month of November, the Grande Prarie, Alberta native made seven starts between the pipes for Lindenwood, while appearing in eight games. deBruyn guided the Lady Lions to their first two victories of the season, and helped the team secure points in four of its last five games to close out the month. deBruyn tallied 198 saves, while logging 465:25 in net for Lindenwood. The sophomore goaltender compiled a .947 save percentage and a 1.42 goals against average.
deBruyn had her strongest performance of the month on Nov. 18, recording the first shutout of her career during a 2-0 victory over RIT. In the month of November, deBruyn held opponents to two goals or fewer in six of her eight appearances, including one goal or fewer five times.
deBruyn and the Lady Lions will return to action this weekend for a two-game home series with the Mercyhurst Lakers. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening, and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.
