The Lindenwood wrestling team led the entire way until the final three matches turned the dual around for Maryville, converting the win over the Lions by a final score of 24-19.
Hunter Haralson rebounded from his highly-competitive match against Nebraska-Kearney with a 6-0 decision at 133 pounds. It was his 18th victory of the season.
The Lions lost the next two matches by a decision and a pin before
Terrel Wilbourn stepped up to the mat. The senior from Francis Howell Central collected another win by decision to cut the Lions' deficit to three. That was also Wilbourn's 18th win of the year along with 54 points earned in dual play.
Kyle Jolas followed suit as he won at 165 pounds by decision to tie the dual up. He now has 24 wins on the year.
Batchka Zulkhuu buffered the Lions into the lead by a major decision win at 174 pounds. Maryville forfeited at 184 pounds, giving the Lions an additional six points and a 10-point lead.
The Saints responded with a pin, a major decision, and a technical fall in the last three matches, icing the victory.
The Lions ends dual play with a record of 8-4. They will host the MIAA Tournament on Sunday, February 14. First matches will start at 10 am in Hyland Arena.
