The Lindenwood men's basketball team continued its road struggles on Saturday afternoon in Kearney, Neb. as the Lions fell to Nebraska-Kearney by a 77-61 score.
 
The Lions led for just 12 seconds in the game, as the Lopers scored nine unanswered points after that and never trailed again. Nebraska-Kearney led by as many as 17 points in the first half and finished the half with a 41-25 lead. The Lopers extended their lead to 28 in the second half, before Lindenwood got the final count down to 16 points in the final nine minutes.
 
Shooting was the difference in the game, as the Lopers shot 47.5 percent for the game, including 53.1 percent while jumping out to their big first-half lead. Lindenwood shot just 28.6 percent in the first 20 minutes, and finished the game shooting 33.9 percent.
 
Three Lions finished with a team-high 14 points in 
Brad Newman, 
Cory Arentsen, and 
LJ McIntosh. McIntosh hit three three-pointers and was five-of-seven from the field. Newman led the team with four assists, and he had a season-high six rebounds. 
Stanislas Heili and 
Sam Mader both had eight rebounds and one block.
 
Lindenwood falls to 15-11 overall and 11-9 in MIAA play. The Lions have their final home regular season game on Wednesday night with a 7:30 p.m. game against Central Missouri.
