The No. 3 nationally ranked Lindenwood women's lacrosse team defeated the McKendree Bearcats by a score of 21-5 on Saturday afternoon from Leemon Field in Lebanon, Ill.

The Lady Lions took an early 1-0 lead 47 seconds into the first half of play as
Jordyn Constance assisted
Morgan Judd with the game's opening goal. The Bearcats would respond with two consecutive goals, and took a 2-1 lead with over 24 minutes remaining in the half. Lindenwood would outscore McKendree 9-2 for the duration of the first half, taking a commanding 10-4 lead into halftime. The Lady Lions would receive goals from eight different scorers, including Judd and
Sarah Cromer each with two goals.
Allison Hurley notched a goal and two assists, for a team-leading three points at the half.

The Lady Lions pulled away during the second half of play, outscoring the Bearcats 11-1 during the final 30 minutes of play. Four more Lady Lions made their way onto the score sheet during the second half. Cromer, who picked up her first-career goal with 3:13 remaining in the first-half, would finish the afternoon with a game-high four goals. Hurley, Judd, and
Cassie Stucklen would all record hat tricks during the Lady Lions first road victory of the season.

Rachel Ortell made the start in goal, playing the opening 30 minutes and registering one save.
Delaney Solomon relieved Ortell at the start of the second half, and played the final 30 minutes in goal. Hurley,
Hannah Doughty, and
Erin Abbott each scooped up a team-high three groundballs. Constance and Abbott paced Lindenwood in draw controls, each securing six.

Lindenwood held the advantage in shots (41-9), groundballs (22-15), and draw controls (22-6). The Lady Lions were nine of 11 on their clear attempts, while the Bearcats were 13-21.

Following the victory the Lady Lions improve their record to 2-0 on the season, while the Bearcats move to 0-1. Lindenwood will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3:00 p.m. when they host the Grand Valley State Lakers from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. Â
