The Lindenwood men's volleyball team picked up its first MIVA win of the season on Saturday evening with a road sweep over IPFW. The Lions won by scores of 26-24, 25-22, and 25-19.

Lindenwood took control of the momentum with its first set victory. The two teams were tied at 24, but
Michael Chard gave Lindenwood the lead, and then Chard teamed up with
Josh Jones for a block that gave the Lions the victory.

The Lions won with strong defense and limiting their hitting errors. Lindenwood outblocked the Mastodons by five blocks, and on offense, had 11 more kills and two more service aces. The Lions finished with a .283 hitting percentage, compared to .152 for IPFW.

Jake Duckworth led the team with 15 kills and 16.5 points, and
Ryan Moore had 12 kills and 14.5 points. Among the specialist
Roman Seghezzi had 38 assists and
Ryan Vorderer had 14 digs. Jones had a big role in the defense with seven blocks and three digs.

Lindenwood improves to 3-10 overall and 1-6 in the MIVA. The Lions return home on Thursday with a 7 p.m. match against Quincy.
