The Lindenwood baseball team defeated Harris Stowe State 13-8 on Saturday afternoon at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

Lindenwood jumped out to an early lead with a run scored by
Nathan Prindle on a wild pitch in the first inning. Prindle was hit by a pitch in the second inning with bases loaded to tally an RBI, and
Drew Quinones hit a ball to deep left field to bring in two runs to extend the Lindenwood lead to 4-0. Harris Stowe scored two runs in the top of the third inning to cut the Lindenwood lead to 4-2.Â
Connor Law tossed five innings allowing just one run on three hits with two strikeouts.

Lindenwood was held scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when
Ryan Sosnowski scored on a balk with two outs. Prindle drove in
Wes Degener on a single and Degener scored on a Quinones double to left center to give Lindenwood a 7-2 lead after five innings. The Lions tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but a big top of the eighth by the Hornets closed the gap to 9-7.

Lindenwood scored more runs in the bottom of the eight to extend its lead.Â
Rayce Singbush hit a triple to bring in
Lucas Tibbs, and
Zac Perkins scored on a Prindle single. Quinones drove in two runs on his triple to left center to give Lindenwood a 13-7 lead heading into the top of the ninth.

The Lions allowed one run in the final inning, but held on for a 13-8 victory over Harris Stowe. Prindle led the team with two hits and three runs scored, while driving in three RBI. Quinones had a team-high four RBI on two hits. Degener scored four runs, which helped Law get this first win of the year.

Lindenwood improves to 2-0 on the year after the two-game home stand. The Lions will head to Memphis, Tenn. to take on Christian Brothers in a two-game series on February 16th.
