The Lindenwood baseball team lost 12-6 on Saturday afternoon to Fort Hays State at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
Â
The Lions scored first in the game with two runs in the bottom of the first inning.Â
Kyle Teter singled to bring in
Drew Quinones, and
Bobby Lang drove in
Nathan Prindle on a single to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. Fort Hays State had a big six-run second inning to take a four-run lead. The Lions added a run in the bottom of the second on a wild pitch that allowed
Jackson Fuller to score. Lindenwood pulled within one run in the bottom of the fourth on a
Wes Degener solo home run, and a passed ball that Prindle scored on to make it a 6-5 ballgame.
Â
The Tigers picked up another run in the sixth inning and another in the seventh to make it a three-run game after seven innings. Prindle singled in the bottom of the eighth to bring in Degener, but a four-run top of the ninth was too much for the Lions as they fell 12-6.
Â
Lindenwood falls to 14-18 on the season, and 8-15 in the MIAA. The Lions will close out the three-game series on Sunday for an 11 a.m. game at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
