Jackson Price scored a career-high 27 points, including hitting the shot that put the Lions ahead in the final minute, on Saturday afternoon in Hyland Arena. The Lions knocked off Central Oklahoma in a MIAA contest by a 67-65 score.
Â
Two free throws by Central Oklahoma put the Bronchos up 65-60 with 2:53 remaining. After both teams missed shots,
Brenon Larson-Gulsvig hit a three-pointer to pull the Lions within two. Lindenwood's defense forced another missed shot which gave the Lions the ball. With 47 seconds remaining, Price hit a baseline jumper and was fouled on the shot (

Â
Lindenwood's defense needed two more defensive stops to secure the win. On the first one, the Bronchos missed a layup and
Max Meylor came down with the rebound.
Chandler Diekvoss made one free throw to put the Lions up two with 15 seconds left. On the final possession, Central Oklahoma missed its first shot but got the offensive rebound, and it was then fouled with 0.1 second remaining. The Bronchos missed the first free throw, and Lindenwood was able to tip away the rebound when they missed the final free throw on purpose.
Â
Lindenwood shook up its lineup in the win, going with a smaller team on the court for much of the game. The smaller lineup helped forced 16 turnovers, and the Lions had a 21-10 advantage on points off turnovers. The Lions also hit 10 three-pointers, compared to four for the Bronchos.
Â
Price had a career night, making six-of-10 three-pointers. His performance was just the tenth time in program history that a Lion hit six or more three-pointers in a game. He also had two rebounds and two assists.
Â
Larson-Gulsvig finished with 14 points and
Bakari Triggs had 11 points. Larson-Gulsvig and
Chandler Diekvoss both had team-highs with three steals. Meylor led the Lions with six rebounds, and Diekvoss, Tribbs, and
Dominique Dobbs each had five boards.
LJ McIntosh and Triggs tied Price for team-highs with two assists.
Â
Lindenwood improves to 12-6 overall and 2-4 in MIAA play. The Lions are in action again on Thursday night with a 7:30 p.m. game at Missouri Southern.
