Lindenwood Tops No. 9 Bloomsburg in Shootout

OVERVIEW
Lindenwood field hockey defeated No. 9 Bloomsburg 2-1 in a shootout on the road. Caro Theunisz put the ball past the Bloomsburg goalie after the Huskies missed their attempt in the seventh round of the shootout. The win moves LU to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in ECAC action.

NOTABLE
- It is the first time the Lions have had  game go to a shootout since the 2013 season, a 4-3 loss to then-No. 9 Limestone. The last Lindenwood shootout win came on 11/6/2011, a 2-1 win over Liberty.
- Graycen Dave scored her third goal of the season in the 28th minute to put Lindenwood on the board early.
- Greta Banholzer pressured the Bloomsburg defense with eight shots (three on goal).
- Renee Duffy had four shots in the game (two on goal).
- Bridget Hoogendijk took three shots (two on goal) against the Huskies.
- The Lions out-shot the Huskies 22-16.
- Defensively, the Lions were tenacious with Nicole Johnston making a defensive save in the 61st minute and Virginie Leyssens recording one in the 52nd minute.
- In goal, Skylar Starbeck played all 100 minutes, recording seven saves.
