Saturday's Game At A Glance
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team travels to Florida this weekend for a 2 p.m. game (eastern) at Florida Tech. The game is the middle contest in a busy stretch for the team in which it plays three games in six days.
 
• Lindenwood is currently 2-1 on the season. The Lions fell for the first time on Wednesday night with a 79-67 setback at Truman State.
 
• Florida Tech, which will be having its home opener on Saturday, is 0-3 during the 2017-18 season. On Wednesday night, the Panthers fell in their conference opener with an 83-72 loss to Rollins.
 
• Lindenwood and Florida Tech have met just once before during the 1991-92 season. Florida Tech won by an 88-52 margin in the neutral site game played in Parkville, Mo.
 
• Lindenwood head coach Lance Randall returns to face a former conference opponent out of the Sunshine State Conference. Randall coached four seasons at Saint Leo, and won the 2012-13 conference championship. In those four seasons, Randall's teams went 5-4 against Florida Tech and its head coach Billy Mims.
 
Lindenwood Notes
• Lindenwood is among the nation's best at taking care of the ball. The Lions have turned it over just 23 times in three games this season. That average of 7.7 turnovers a game is fourth-best in NCAA Division II.
 
• Lindenwood is second in the MIAA in turnover margin with a +3.7 mark. The Lions have won the turnover margin in every game this season. In the last three seasons, the team is 19-8 when having fewer turnovers than its opponents.
 
• The Lions are going to the free-throw line an average of 20.7 times a game, compared to 13.0 times for their opponents. Lindenwood has made 75 percent or more of its free throws in the last two games.
 
• During the Lance Randall era at Lindenwood, 70 points have been a key statistic. The Lions are 29-7 when scoring 70 or more points, and 29-11 when holding opponents below that mark.
 
• Brad Newman is the only Lion to score in double-figures in every game this season, and is second on the team with a 14.3 scoring average. On Wednesday at Truman, Newman had a career-high 23 points. He made seven-of-13 from the field, including two-of-three from three-point range, and also connected on seven-of-eight free throws.

• Chandler Diekvoss leads the team in both points and rebounds. He is averaging 16.3 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. Diekvoss has one double-double this season, and missed another one on Wednesday by just a single point and rebound.
 
• Lindenwood has received balanced scoring this season. The Lions have had a different leading scorer in all three games, and seven players have at least one game with 10 or more points.
 
• Dominique Dobbs has scored double-figure points in two straight games, including a season-high 13 against Truman. He is shooting 53.3 percent from the field, and 80 percent from the free-throw line.
 
• TJ Crockett has been the top bench scorer this season, averaging 8.0 points a game. He has made 45.6 percent of his three-pointers, and half of his shots inside the arc.
 
• Adam Pohlman currently ranks third in the MIAA in assist-to-turnover ratio with a 3.3 mark. He has a team-high 10 assists this season, and has turned the ball over just three times.
 
• Lindenwood has its home opener on Monday night at 7 p.m. The Lions will be taking on Hannibal-LaGrange in Hyland Arena.
 
A Look At The Panthers
• Florida Tech has lost five straight games, including losses this season to Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, and Rollins.
 
• The Panthers went 15-14 last season, including an 11-5 record on their home court. Since 2010-11, Florida Tech is 82-36 at home, and has won at least nine home games every season.
 
• Sam Daniel is one of the top 10 scorers in NCAA Division II this season with 28.3 points a game. He is ranked fifth in the nation with 5.67 three-pointers a game, which helps the team ranked 30th nationally with 11.3 three-pointers a contest.
 
• Billy Mims is in his 13th season as the head coach at Florida Tech. He has seven winning seasons in his last eight years. Mimms is in his 20th year as a collegiate head coach, and has won 271 career games.
