Women's Basketball Takes on Missouri Western in Regular-Season Finale

The Lindenwood women's basketball team will close out the 2016-17 regular season with a 2 p.m. game against Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo. on Saturday.
 
Lindenwood Notes:
-The Lady Lions will carry a two-game road winning streak into St. Joseph, Mo. after a 65-53 win over Northwest Missouri on Thursday night.
 
-Kallie Bildner continued to prove herself as a dominate player in the MIAA as she tallied 29 points with 10 rebounds against the Bearcats.  Bildner shot 85.7 percent from the field on 12-of-14 shooting to help the Lady Lions shoot 45.8 percent as a team.
 
-Lindenwood held the leading scorer in the conference to just nine points on eight attempts.  The Lady Lions outscored the Bearcats 46-28 in the paint and grabbed 42 rebounds to just 26 for Northwest Missouri.
 
-Jerricah Butler had eight points with five rebounds put hounded the Bearcats on the defensive end to help keep Northwest Missouri to 12 points under its season average.
 
-Lindenwood is second in the MIAA with a 9.3 rebounding margin and is averaging 69.3 points per game while allowing 69.8 points per contest.
 
-Lindsay Medlen is second in the conference with 3.5 assists per night while the Lady Lions moved to 11-2 on the season when leading with five minutes to go in the game.
 
Saturday's Game:
-Lindenwood will enter the day with a 12-14 overall record and a 7-11 mark in the MIAA while Missouri Western holds a 20-7 record on the season and a conference record of 12-6.
 
-The Lady Lions are just 1-7 against the Griffons since the 2012-13 season as the only win came on Feb. 8, 2014 in a 72-60 victory in Hyland Arena.
 
-Lindenwood fell to the Griffons earlier in the month by a 66-60 margin in Hyland Arena.  Gabby Walker recorded her second-career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Lindsay Medlen dropped 12 points with five rebounds and two assists.
 
-Both team shot 38 percent from the field and each team tallied 28 points in the paint.  Lindenwood outrebounded the Griffons 45-35 while Missouri Western compiled 26 points off 19 Lindenwood turnovers.
 
Missouri Western Notes:
-The Griffons have won three of their last four games including a 98-67 victory over Lincoln on Thursday night in St. Joseph, Mo.
 
-Chelsea Dewey is the team-leader with 13.6 points per night including a three-point percentage of 37.7 percent.  Julia Torres is grabbing 7.2 rebounds per game while adding 9.0 points per contest.
 
-Missouri Western is coached by Rob Edmisson who is in his fifth season with the Griffons and 21st in his career.  Edmisson is 88-51 at Missouri Western and holds a career record of 477-159.
