The Lindenwood women's hockey team was defeated 3-0 by the No. 9 Robert Morris Colonials on Saturday afternoon at Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. Prior to the start of the game Lindenwood honored the four members of its 2016-17 senior class.
Robert Morris wasted little time taking control of the game, scoring at the 2:01 mark of the first period. Rikki Meilleur was the Colonial goal scorer, with Natalie Fraser and Amber Rennie recording the assists on the play.
The Robert Morris goal would be the only score of the opening period, which ended with the Colonials in front by a score of 1-0. Lindenwood would tally seven shots during the first 20 minutes of play, while Robert Morris had 11 shots on goal.
Lindenwood turned up its pressure during the second period, outshooting Robert Morris in the period, 15-11. The Lady Lions were unable to tie the score, but managed to hold the Colonials scoreless in the second period, which ended with Robert Morris holding a one-goal lead.
Robert Morris would score twice in the final period, extending its lead to the eventual final of 3-0. Jessica Gazzola and Rennie had the Colonial goals. Lindenwood outshot Robert Morris 13-6 during the third period, but were unable to cut into the Colonial lead.
Jolene deBruyn started in net for Lindenwood, finishing the game with 25 saves.

Shannon Morris-Reade each had a team-high five shots on goal for the Lady Lions.
The Lady Lions finished the game scoreless on their two power-play chances, while the Colonials scored on their final of three power-play opportunities.
Following the loss, Lindenwood moves to 5-24-2 and 3-16-1 from within the CHA. With the victory, Robert Morris improves to 22-4-6 and 15-3-2 in conference play. The Lady Lions will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. for the CHA Tournament on March 2-4.
