After suffering a five-set loss on Friday night in Bristol, Tenn., the Lindenwood men's volleyball team handled Lees-McRae in three sets on Saturday evening at a neutral-site court.Â
Lindenwood held Lees-McRae to .045 in the first set en route to a 25-18 win before surviving 25-20 and 25-16 in the next two frames. The Lions attacked at a .421 clip in the third set to seal the victory. The three-set victory is the first for Lindenwood this season, as it has now won a match in all decisions.
Ryan Moore led the way for the Lions with 16 points, including 11 kills. The senior was involved in seven blocks, including one solo, and recorded seven digs.
Nathan Van Dellen hit .563 in the win, securing 10 kills, three digs, and one assist.
Adam Brewster dished out 24 assists in the win, while also recording five digs and two kills. The sophomore has now surpassed 550 assists on the season, and is currently at 864 for his career.
Joseph Mayer tallied five assists in his one set of action.Â
Karsten Staples also recorded double-digit points with 10, having seven kills, four assisted blocks, and one service ace.
Overall, the Lions had 10 blocks compared to the Bobcats' three, while
Michael Jennings led the team with two service aces. The team recorded five throughout the match. Jennings had six kills on the night, while
Ryan Vorderer tallied double-digit digs for the ninth time this season. His total of 11 led the team, as
Ben Symonds recorded two.Â
The Lions hit .312 on the night, while holding the Bobcats to a .115 attack percentage. The team tallied 38 kills on the night.
The win improves Lindenwood to 3-15 on the season. The Lions end their non-conference schedule with the victory, and will host three of the last five matches in Hyland Arena. Quincy will travel to St. Charles on March 25 for 2 p.m. match. The Hawks took a four-set decision earlier in the season against the Lions.Â
