Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse (Discontinued) |

Men's Lacrosse Cruises Past Adams State, Extends Winning Streak to Four Games

The No. 4-ranked Lindenwood men's lacrosse team bulldozed through Adams State by a final score of 18-6 on Sunday evening. It was their fourth victory in a row.

In the first quarter, David Corazalla pounced on the Grizzlies by scoring back-to-back goals within the first nine minutes of play. Although the Grizzlies responded with a goal of their own, Max Troha took full advantage on a man-up opportunity when he executed a pass play from Sean Darroch to score the Lions' third goal of the quarter.

As the second quarter occurred, Corazalla and Darroch continued to attack the Grizzly defense as each scored a goal to increase the Lion lead to 5-1. Darroch also assisted on Corazalla's goal. The Grizzlies scored their second goal of the game with 2:38 left, but Corazalla did not slow down. He registered his second unassisted goal of the game with two minutes left that Troha followed up one minute with his second score of the contest. The Lions headed into halftime with a comfortable 8-2 lead.

Lindenwood started off the second half scoring the first two goals coming off the sticks of Corazalla and Kevin Eskridge, but Adams State kept the contest interesting after going on a three-goal frenzy to cut down the Lion lead 9-5.

However, the Lions thrashed the Grizzlies in the fourth quarter. Eight different players recorded a total of nine goals in the final period to eliminate any chance for the Grizzlies to jumpstart a comeback. Josh Coons scored two goals while Eskridge, Andrew Hasz, Cole Trullender, Leonard Jones, Kyle Lee, Henry Wurzer, and Andrew Fanizzi joined the scoring spree.

Although Adams State managed to score six goals, Lindenwood controlled possession of the ball for the majority of the time. The Lions outshot the Grizzlies by a 67-15 margin with 35-9 being on-goal. Lindenwood also dominated the groundball portion of the contest, scooping up 42 to Adams State's 16. Tyler Schermann won the faceoff battle for the sixth time season as he converted 14 times on 19 attempts while picking up a team-high nine groundballs.

After the victory, the Lions improve their record to 6-1 as they will prepare to hit the road again for a matchup against North Greenville on Thursday. The opening faceoff is scheduled to start at 3 pm CT.
