Lady Lions Face No. 9 Pittsburg State in MIAA Quarterfinals

The Lindenwood women's basketball team will play No. 9 Pittsburg State for the third time this season in the Quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. on Friday at 6 p.m.
 
Lindenwood Notes:
-The Lady Lions earned their first MIAA Tournament win on Tuesday night in Kearney, Neb. after an 85-68 win over Nebraska-Kearney for the first win over the Lopers in program history.
 
-MIAA Freshman of the Year, Kallie Bildner, had yet another double-double with her 16 points and 11 rebounds while she was 2-for-2 from behind the arc.
 
-Lindsay Medlen had one of the biggest games of her career as she dropped 23 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out five assists, and tallied one steal.  Gabby Walker and Alex Haley each had 10 points while Sara Ross grabbed 15 boards.
 
-The Lady Lions shot 48.3 percent from the field and made 6-of-11 from three-point range while outrebounding the Lopers 47-26.
 
-Kallie Bildner is leading the MIAA with a 59.1 field goal percentage while ranking third in the conference with 9.5 rebounds per game.
 
-Kallie Bildner is scoring the ninth most points per game at 15.2 points per contest while classmate Lindsay Medlen has dished out 3.6 assists per game to ranks sixth in the conference.
 
-Lindenwood is second in the league with a 9.5 rebounding margin while placing fifth in the conference with a 43.5 field goal percentage even though the team ranks at the bottom of the MIAA in three-point shooting.
 
-The Lady Lions are 11-5 while holding a halftime lead and 12-2 when having the upper hand with five minutes left in the fourth quarter.
 
Friday's Game:
-Lindenwood will visit Kansas City, Mo. with a 13-15 overall record after finishing 7-12 in the MIAA.  The Gorillas earned the No.1 seed in the conference tournament after ending the regular season with a 16-3 record in league play and a 24-4 overall record.
 
-Pittsburg State has defeated Lindenwood twice this season with a 95-80 win and a 78-69 win respectively.
 
-In the first meeting, the Lady Lions shot 49.2 percent from the field, but was outdone by the Gorillas knocking down 51.6 percent of their shots.  Kallie Bildner scored 19 points while Charisse Williams tallied 12 points.
 
-Lindenwood shot well from the field again in the second meeting, but seven three-pointers by Pittsburg State helped aid the Gorillas to a slim nine-point win in Pittsburg, Kan.  Lindsay Medlen led the squad with 16 points while CeCe Rapp grabbed six rebounds.
 
No. 9 Pittsburg State Notes:
-The Gorillas were on a seven-game winning streak before falling 69-63 to No. 19 Central Missouri in the final game of the regular season.
 
-Pittsburg State is led by Mikaela Burgess who is averaging 17.5 points per game while shooting 40.6 percent from the field.  Hadyn Herlocker is leading the MIAA with 5.6 assists per contest while Madison Northcutt is snagging 8.8 rebounds per game.
 
-Head Coach Lane Lord is in his 11th season at Pittsburg State and 14th overall.  Lord is 207-93 with the Gorillas and 284-114 in his career.
