Both Lindenwood tennis teams lost against Emporia State on Wednesday afternoon from the Lindenwood tennis courts. The men fell by a 7-2 score while the women lost 6-3.
After being swept in doubles, the men pushed Emporia State in singles.
Filip Bogic dominated his match at No. 1 behind a 6-1, 6-1 score while
Naoufal El Idrissi collected a close three-set match by a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 tally in the No. 2 slot.
Michele Gaspari nearly took his opponent to a third set at No. 4, but fell in the second-set tiebreaker.
The women fell at No. 1 and 2 doubles, but snatched a comfortable 8-5 victory thanks to
Haya Hamed and
Alexis McCarthy at No. 3.
The Lady Lions battled the Stingers in singles as
Diana Castro and
Rebeca Aguilar demonstrated dominate performances at No. 5 and 6 respectively. Castro posted a 6-1, 6-4 win while Aguilar cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 score.
Clara Piccamiglio almost collected a three-set victory at No. 4, but fell 7-5 in the third set.
After the losses, the men fall to 6-7 while the women become 6-9 on the season. Both teams will prepare to return to their courts on Friday to take on Washburn at 2 pm.
