The Lindenwood men's tennis team picked up its eighth victory of the season when they blanked Lewis and Clark Community College 9-0 on Wednesday at home.
In doubles,
Filip Bogic and
Naoufal El Idrissi led the charge by cruising through their opponents at No. 1 by a final score of 8-2 followed by an 8-1 victory at No. 2 thanks to the performances of
Michele Gaspari and
Antoine Barraud.
Adrian Beloqui and
Anvar Akhmetov played a closer match at No. 3, but managed to pull off a 9-7 win for the Lions.
The Lions coasted through singles as well as none of the matches went to three sets. Bogic notched a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 1 while El Idrissi dominated at No. 2 behind a 6-2, 6-0 score.
Theo Butaeye had no trouble at No. 3 as he did not lose a single game. Gaspari and
Tudor Ghenea also iced easy wins at No. 4 and 6 respectively as each did not allow more than three games total. Barraud competed in a closer match, but collected a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 5.
After the victory, the Lions improve to 8-11 on the season as they will host their final match of the season on April 18 against the University of Missouri-St. Louis starting at 3 p.m. from Lindenwood's tennis courts.
