Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Seniors Lead the Way as No. 2 Women’s Lacrosse Wins 17th Straight Game

The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to 17 games with a 26-3 senior day victory over Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday afternoon. The game was Lindenwood's 31st consecutive victory at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.

Lindenwood's starting lineup featured all nine seniors, who were honored earlier in the afternoon during a pregame ceremony.

The Lady Lions rattled off the first three scores of the half, building a 3-0 lead after 4:45. Morgan Judd, Cassie Stucklen, and Rachel Benzing tallied the scores for Lindenwood.

Following an Oklahoma Baptist score at the 24:04 mark of the first half, Lindenwood began a stretch of 10 unanswered goals to close out the half.  Jenna Battaglini and Sarah Goetz each tallied two goals during the Lady Lion run. Hannah Doughty, Carly Fedorowski, Garland Fiser, Allison Hurley, Cassie Stucklen, and Hunter Waldau each scored once for Lindenwood in the first half. The Lady Lions headed into halftime with a 13-1 lead.

Lindenwood dominated the second half play, outscoring Oklahoma Baptist 13-2 during the final 30 minutes. Xenia Du Mont scored three goals to lead all second-half scorers, while Delaney Solomon and Molly Beckham each scored their first goals of the season. Solomon played the first 41:38 in goal for Lindenwood, making five saves, before shifting to the offensive end of the field.

Savannah Phillips and Erin Abbott scored the final two goals of the afternoon for Lindenwood, as all nine seniors found the back of the cage at least once during the victory.
Solomon picked up her fifth win of the season in net for the Lady Lions.

Beckham and Stucklen each caused a team-high three turnovers. Stucklen also paced Lindenwood with six ground balls. Shannon Modl and Abbott tied for the team lead with four draw controls secured.

Following the victory, Lindenwood improves to 17-0 and 7-0 from within the RMAC. The Lady Lions will return to action on Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. for an RMAC showdown with No. 15 Regis.
