The Lindenwood men's volleyball team celebrated its five seniors on Saturday evening, but dropped its final regular season match to McKendree in four sets. The five seniors are:
Zach Biggs,
Jake Duckworth,
Brian Keough,
Blake Koppel, and
Ryan Moore.Â
The Lions jumped out to a lead with a win in the first set and narrowly won the second frame, but dropped it 26-24. McKendree controlled the final two sets 25-16 and 25-18, respectively, to defeat Lindenwood in four frames.Â
Moore matched a career-high kill total with 20, tying his mark earlier this season against Saint Francis. The senior hit .263 on the night, while also totaling five digs.Â
Zach Biggs had one kill and two digs.Â
Sophomore
Adam Brewster tallied 41 assists in the loss, while also having four digs and one solo block. The Lee's Summit, Mo. native was also in on assisted blocks and had one service ace. LiberosÂ
Ben Symonds and
Ryan Vorderer combined for four digs, while the latter also dished out two dimes.Â
Nathan Van Dellen also accumulated double-digit kills with 11, while also having two digs.
Michael Chard had seven successful attacks.Â
Lindenwood ends the 2017 regular season with a record of 5-18 and 4-12 in conference. The Lions will travel to Romeoville, Ill. to battle No. 7 Lewis in the first round of the MIVA tournament. Lindenwood will be seeded seventh and is in the postseason for the first time since 2015.Â
