Women’s Hockey Controlled at No. 2 Wisconsin

Box Score The Lindenwood women's hockey team was defeated by the No. 2 Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday afternoon from LaBahn Arena in Madison, Wis. The Badgers prevailed by a final score of 4-0.

The Badgers scored once during the first two periods, before tallying two goals over the final 20 minutes of play. Wisconsin outshot Lindenwood by a 38-9 margin for the game, and held the Lions scoreless on each of the team's two power-play attempts.

Lindenwood goaltender Jolene deBruyn stopped 34 saves, and kept Lindenwood within reach of Wisconsin for the majority of the contest.

Sierra Burt and Taylor Girard each tied for the team lead with two shots.

Following the loss, Lindenwood moves to 0-2-0 on the season.

Lindenwood will open the home portion of its schedule on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. The Lions will host the Minnesota State-Mankato Mavericks at Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.
