The Lindenwood women's soccer team secured a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over Northwest Missouri on Sunday afternoon from St. Charles, Mo. The Lions defeated the Bearcats with just nine seconds remaining in the second overtime period. The win pushes Lindenwood's record to 7-9-2 on the season and 4-6-1 from within the MIAA.
The match was evenly played throughout, and remained scoreless through 90 minutes of regulation and nearly 20 minutes of sudden-death overtime. However, with just nine seconds remaining in the second overtime period,
Emily Jowers fired the ball into the upper right corner of the goal, giving Lindenwood a thrilling last-second victory.
