Women's Soccer Wins Thrilling Overtime Match in Final Seconds

MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's soccer team secured a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over Northwest Missouri on Sunday afternoon from St. Charles, Mo. The Lions defeated the Bearcats with just nine seconds remaining in the second overtime period. The win pushes Lindenwood's record to 7-9-2 on the season and 4-6-1 from within the MIAA.

The match was evenly played throughout, and remained scoreless through 90 minutes of regulation and nearly 20 minutes of sudden-death overtime. However, with just nine seconds remaining in the second overtime period, Emily Jowers fired the ball into the upper right corner of the goal, giving Lindenwood a thrilling last-second victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- For Jowers, the goal was her second of the season and also her team-leading second game-winning score of the year.
- Marissa Barria picked up the assist on the goal, her first assist and point of the year.
- Katie Juhlin led Lindenwood with five shots.
- Megan Swanson registered four saves in the shutout victory, her fourth shutout of the year.
- Lindenwood outshot Northwest Missouri 21-8, and also held a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.
