Women's Basketball Hosts UMSL in Home Opener

LINDENWOOD NOTES
- Lindenwood hosts UMSL in the home opener for the women's basketball team. The Lions are 2-0 taking on the 0-2 Tritons. Last season's Lindenwood team won the MIAA Tournament Championship as the No. 9 seed, the lowest seed to ever win the MIAA crown. 
-The 2018-19 Lions won both of their games in the MIAA/GAC Challenge last weekend in Magnolia, Arkansas. Kallie Bildner led the Lions in scoring (32 points) and rebounds (25) in the tournament. Against Arkansas-Monticello, Lindenwood shot 12-34 from beyond the arc, the most attempts and second-most makes from three in program NCAA history. 
- Returning for the Lions is junior forward Kallie Bildner, a 2017-18 All-Central Region honoree. The Waynesville, Mo. native led the Lions with 17.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. She was the only player in the MIAA to average a double-double. Bildner recorded 352 total rebounds, matching the Lindenwood single-season record. 
- Also returning for the Lions is junior point guard Lindsay Medlen. She was fourth in the MIAA with 3.6 assists per game (second among returning MIAA players). Medlen also led the Lions with 47 steals. 
- The Lions are led by first-year head coach Katie Falco. She comes to Lindenwood after spending the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA DI South Dakota State. 

UMSL NOTES:
- UMSL is very active on the defensive end as the Tritons are 26th in NCAA DII with 24 steals this year. UMSL is 59th n DII in turnovers forced this season.
- UMSL point guard Arielle Jackson is 49th in the NCAA with a 3.00 assist to turnover ratio. She averages 8.5 points per game with a team-leading six assists.
- Alex LaPorta leads the defensive effort with eight steals this season, 13th in DII. She averages eight points, 6.5 rebounds and 33 minutes per game.
- Kaitlyn Henning is the Triton's leading scorer with 13.5 points per game.

SERIES NOTES:
- The Lions are 2-5 all-time against the Tritons with a 1-2 mark at Hyland Arena. 
-The two teams met last year on New Year's Eve with UMSL winning the 74-69 nailbiter. 
- In three games against UMSL, Charisse Williams has 29 career points, most among current Lions.
