MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood men's soccer team earned its first shutout win of the season on Friday afternoon in Bolivar, Mo. The Lions blanked Southwest Baptist by a final score of 3-0. With the win, Lindenwood improves its record to 9-5-3 and 3-3-1 from within the MIAA.
After just over 42 minutes of scoreless action to begin the match, Lindenwood'sÂ
Steven Lilako scored with under three minutes remaining in the first half to send the Lions into halftime with a one goal edge.
Lindenwood extended its lead during the second half on two occasions, scoring goals in the 52nd and 68th minutes of the match.
Johannes Brendle scored the second goal of the afternoon for the Lions, while
Thomas Hutcheson added the final goal of the match.
Cole Luby made his first career start in goal for Lindenwood during the match, stopping both shots he faced en route to the first win and shutout as a Lion.

- Brendle's goal, his fifth of the season and third in as many games, was assisted by
Joshua Scholl.

Gaspar Alvarez for the team lead.
- This is the first time in Lindenwood's NCAA era that it has had two goal scorers reach at least nine goals scored in the same season.
