LINDENWOODÂ NOTES
- Lindenwood takes its 4-0 record to the Drury Thanksgiving Classic. The Lions take on GLVC opponents Drury and Truman State. Drury is the reigning GLVC champion and finished the 2017-18 season 31-3. Truman State is 5-0 for the first time since 2012-13.
- Last week, the Lions defeated GLVC members UMSL and Illinois-Springfield. Lindenwood topped UMSL 82-66 in the Lions' home-opener. They followed that performance with a 91-76 victory over Illinois-Springfield. Over the two games, Lindenwood scored 110 points in the paint while the opposition scored 52.
- Entering the week,
Kallie Bildner led all of NCAA DII in field goal percentage at 83.3%. Bildner is 30-36 from the field this season. The Lions, as a team, are third in the NCAA with a field goal percentage of 52.9%
- Lindenwood is 17th in assists per game with 18.8 and 19th in rebounding margin at 12.8 in NCAA DII
- Lindenwood, Drury and Truman state are three of the 58 undefeated teams remaining in NCAA DII.Â
- The Lions are led by first-year head coach
Katie Falco. She comes to Lindenwood after spending the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA DI South Dakota State.Â
Drury Notes:
- The Panthers are 3-0 and ranked no. 9 in the preseason WBCA preseason poll. Drury averages 90.7 points per game, the third-best mark in NCAA DII.Â
- Drury features a stout defense that leads NCAA DII in turnovers forced (31 per game). The Panters have the second-best turnover margin in the nation (13.67).
- Hailey Diestelkamp is the Panthers leading scorer at 24.0 points per game (14th in NCAA DII). She also grabs 10.7 rebounds (32nd in NCAA).Â
- Three other Panthers score in double-figures: Paige Robinson (12.3), Payton Richards (12.0) and Azia Lynch (11.0)
Truman State Notes:
- The 5-0 Bulldogs are off to one of the best starts in progam history. They excel at the free throw line, leading the nation with 88 free throws. Truman is fourth nationally with 118 attempts.
- Truman is led by the duo of Brooke Bailey (11.2 points per game) and Katie Jeseckas (10.2 points per game).
- Maddie Re is fifth in NCAA DII with 54 rebounds this year (10.8 per game)
Series Notes:
- The Lions have faced Drury once, a 49-59 loss in 2011.
- Lindenwood and Truman were both members of the MIAA in 2013. The Bulldogs won both contests between the schools.
