LINDENWOOD NOTES
- Lindenwood opens the 2018-19 season at the MIAA/GAC Challenge in Magnolia, Ark. The 2017-18 Lions were the first Lindenwood team to win 20 games and advance to the NCAA tournament. Lindenwood won the MIAA Conference Championship as the no. 9 seed, the lowest-seeded team to ever win the MIAA crown.
- Returning for the Lions is junior forward
Kallie Bildner, a 2017-18 All-Central Region honoree. The Waynesville, Mo. native led the Lions with 17.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. She was the only player in the MIAA to average a double-double. Bildner recorded 352 total rebounds, matching the Lindenwood single-season record.
- Also returning for the Lions is junior point guard
Lindsay Medlen. She was fourth in the MIAA with 3.6 assists per game (second among returning MIAA players). Medlen also led the Lions with 47 steals.
- Rounding out the impact returners are three starters from 2017-18.
Charisse Williams started in 23 games last season, averaging 6.6 points per game while recording 27 steals.
Sara Ross also made 23 starts and notched 6.0 points per game with 3.2 rebounds per game.
Kenzie Guese ended last season with 14 consecutive starts and averaged 2.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
- The Lions are led by first-year head coach
Katie Falco. She comes to Lindenwood after spending the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA DI South Dakota State.
SCOUTING THE BLOSSOMS
- UAM will be led by senior guard Charlynn Perry, who was second on the team in scoring last year with 10.0 points per game.
- Also returning is junior forward Mackenzie Johnson who grabbed 4.8 rebounds per game in 2017-18.
- Head coach Tanya Ray is in her eighth season at UAM. She has a career mark of 70-118.
- The Lions are 3-1 all-time against Arkansas Monticello, including last year's 64-40 win.
SCOUTING THE MULERIDERS
- The Muleriders' top returner is senior guard Olivia McWilliams. Last season, she posted 11.9 points per game with 4.2 rebounds per game.
- Erin Brinkley made 17 starts a year ago, averaging 6.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
- Head coach Adam Collins is in his first season with SAU.
- Last year was the first time the Lions played Southern Arkansas. The Lions won 90-54. Last season,
Kallie Bildner scored 30 points with 15 rebounds in the contest, including a sterling 16-16 from the free throw line.Â
