OVERVIEW
Lindenwood softball impressed with two wins on Sunday at the Lou Brock Sports Complex. The Lions rallied twice in game one for a 5-4 win over Davenport. In the second game, freshman Marina Esparza spun a shutout in the circle to lead Lindenwood to a 2-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan. The victories move Lindenwood to 3-1 overall this season.

NOTABLE
- In the first game, the Lions faced an early 3-0 deficit before rallying to tie the game into the seventh inning. In the top of the seventh, Davenport hit a home run to take a 4-3 lead. However, in the bottom of the frame, LWU battled to load the bases with two outs. Keri Sheehan pinch hit and drew a hit by pitch to tie the game at 4-4. Then Adele Linderman stepped to the plate and ripped a single off the wall to win the game for Lindenwood.
- In game two, freshman Marina Esparza threw a complete game shutout, striking out five.
- Over the two games, Stormee Galka was 3-7 with a run scored and one RBI.
- Sam Dean was 2-5 with a double and a triple. She finished the day with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.
- Austine Pauley also went 2-5 with a double. She also drew a pair of intentional walks for a .571 on-base percentage.

UP NEXT
The Lions host cross-town foe Fontbonne for a double-header on Feb. 21. Game one is set to begin at 3 p.m.
