The Lindenwood baseball team defeated Nebraska-Kearney by an 8-5 final on Saturday in Kearney, Neb. with the help of a six-run inning.

The Lions bounced back in the second game of the series with the help of a solid pitching performance by
Tyler Cassmeyer. Cassmeyer went 6 2/3 innings with six strikeouts and allowed three runs on six hits.Â
Wes Degener hit an RBI double in the top of the third to start the scoring and then the Lions pounced in the top of the fourth.

Ian Nelson drove in a run on a fielder's choice and
Vince Saladino brought a run across with a sacrifice fly. Degener drove in two runs on a single and
DJ Miller capped off the inning with a two-RBI single to left center. Saladino drove in the eight run for the Lions in the top of the fifth on a double to left center and the Lions held on for the 8-5 victory.
