The Lindenwood baseball team handed Pittsburg State its first conference loss with a 7-2 win over the Gorillas on Sunday afternoon in Pittsburg, Kan.

Tyler Cassmeyer was dominant on the bump for the Lions as he allowed just two runs in seven innings and tallied seven strikeouts.  After the Gorillas tallied a run in the first inning, Wes Degener put the Lions ahead 2-1 after a two-RBI single in the top of the second.  DJ Miller belted a home run with two outs to extend the lead to 4-1.  Pittsburg State scored its second run in the third, but the Lions took over from there.
 
Ian Nelson drove in Drew Quinones and Ryan Sosnowski drove in Neil Fischer to make it a 6-2 ballgame.  Dominic Revetta hit a single to centerfield for the final run of the game while Michael Cessna closed out the game with three strikeouts in the final two innings.

Lindenwood improves to 10-6 on the year and 3-3 in the MIAA while Pittsburg State falls to 11-5 on the season and 5-1 in conference play.  The Lions will travel to Springfield, Ill. on Wednesday to take on Illinois-Springfield at 2 p.m.
