The Lindenwood baseball team lost its final game of the season to Emporia State by a 14-7 margin on Sunday at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lions fell behind in the top of the second, but
Ian Nelson belted a two-run home run to tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Emporia State regained the lead in the top of the fourth, but again the Lions tied the game with a double down the left field line by
Wes Degener. The Hornets added a pair of runs in the top of the fifth while the Lions scored just one run in the inning on a single by
Dominic Revetta.

Emporia State poured on five runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull ahead 10-4.Â
Drew Quinones drove in Degener on a double, but the Lions could not hold the Hornets from scoring runs.Â
Brett Andersen hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth while
Ryan Sosnowski drove in
Paul Sherwood to add a pair of runs, but the final game of the season resulted in a 14-7 loss.

Andrew Eilers set a new school record for strikeouts in a game against Central Oklahoma on March 31 when he tallied 12 strikeouts.Â
Conor Behrens tied the school record for most hits in a game when he knocked five base hits against Fort Hays State on April 21. Four Lion seniors tied or set a combined 14 school records during a career.

Wes Degener tallied over 200 runs scored and over 300 hits in his four years while stealing 50 bases and compiling 18 triples.Â
Drew Quinones registered 57 doubles and had 197 RBI in his decorated career with the Lions.Â
Andrew Eilers was a force on the mound during his time at Lindenwood as he amassed 203 strikeouts including 68 strikeouts looking to become the career leader.Â
Nick Paulda was dependable in his career as he posted a career-best .995 fielding percentage behind the plate.

Lindenwood celebrated 15 seniors at the conclusion of Sunday's game as every senior made an appearance in their final game of their careers. The senior class combined for three all-region performances and nine all-conference selections. The group earned all-MIAA academic honor roll recognition 29 times, MIAA Scholar Athlete three times, and
Lucas Tibbs was a two-time MIAA Academic Award for Excellence recipient.
