Lonodono Leads Lions to Fifth Consecutive Win

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood junior midfielder Jessie Londono scored two goals to lead the Lions to a 4-2 victory over visiting Newberry. The win is the Lions' fifth in a row. Ninth-ranked Lindenwood field hockey is now 5-1 on the year. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Jessie Londono led the Lions with two goals on three total shots. She is tied with Bridget Hoogendijk for the team lead with five goals this season.
- Pauline Terwindt scored her third goal of the season in the 17th minute. She was assisted by Caro Theunisz.
- In the 37th minute, Mary Clare Banholzer fired off four shots in succession, finishing with her second goal of the season. She led the game with eight shots, seven on goal.
- As a team, the Lions out-shot the Wolves 21-5 with 16 of their shots coming in a second-half flurry.
- Lindenwood earned 12 penalty corners, including nine in the second half.
- In goal, Skylar Starbeck earned the win, rising to 5-0 this season.

UP NEXT
The Lions are back in action on Sept. 28 when they take on Limestone on the road. Lindenwood defeated Limestone in the 2017 ECAC Championship game in the last meeting between the two teams.
