Women’s Soccer Rolls Past Drury for Season’s First Win

MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's soccer team picked up its first victory of the season on Friday evening, defeating the Drury Panthers by a score of 4-0 at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. With the win, the Lions improve to 1-1-1 on the season.

Morgan Weller gave Lindenwood an early 1-0 lead, netting her second score of the season, and the eventual game-winning goal, in the seventh minute of the match. Weller would notch an insurance tally in the 59th minute, giving the Lions a two-goal lead.

Katie Richter and Emily Schneider also scored for Lindenwood, bringing the game to its final score of 4-0.

Lauren Greenstein made one save in goal for the Lions, en route to the shutout victory.

- Weller notched her team-leading second and third goals of the season, including the first game-winning goal of career. Weller has now established a new single-season career-high in goals with three.

-Richter picked up her first Lindenwood goal and assist in the game. Richter's goal occurred in the 67th minute, while her assist came on Weller's game-winning score in the seventh minute.

- Schneider also added her first career goal as a Lion in the 81st minute of the match.

- Drury was issued a red card in the 50th minute of the match, forcing the team to play shorthanded for the duration of the match.

- The Lions outshot the Panthers by a total of 21-4, and held a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal.

- Lindenwood was awarded seven corner kicks, while Drury received zero.
