Women's Basketball Opens New Year with Missouri Southern

LINDENWOOD NOTES
- Lindenwood hosts Missouri Southern for the first game of 2019. Lindenwood heads into the new year with a 2-0 mark in MIAA action while Missouri Southern is 1-1 in conference games. 
- In their last game, the Lions defeated Quincy 84-60. In that contest, junior forward Kallie Bildner scored 17 points with 15 rebounds. Her 17th point marked the 1,000th of her career, becoming the 16th Lion to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Bildner also notched her fourth double-double of the season.
- Entering the week, Kallie Bildner was second in all of NCAA DII in field goal percentage at 68.5%. Bildner is 61-89 from the field this season. The Lions, as a team, are first in the NCAA with a field goal percentage of 51.1%
- Lindenwood is second nationally with a rebounding margin of 13.1.
- The Lions are 38th nationally in three-point field goal percentage at 35.8%.
- The Lions are led by first-year head coach Katie Falco. She comes to Lindenwood after spending the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA DI South Dakota State. 

Missouri Southern Notes:
- The Lions enter Hyland Arena with a 9-3 overall record and a 1-1 mark in MIAA action. MSSU has won four in a row, including a 77-57 victory over Tabor College on Dec. 29.
- Missouri Southern is 10th in the country in rebounding margin at 12.2 and 21st with 44.83 rebounds per game. The Lions also are 34th in blocked shots with 48.
- The Lions are led by the duo of Chelsea Henry (16.2 points per game) and Chasidee Owens (10.5 points, 7.3 rebounds per game). 
- Jordan Schoenberger leads the MIAA with 3.0 offensive rebounds per game. 

Series Notes
- Lindenwood is 3-7 all-time against Missouri Southern. Last season, Missouri Southern won two regular-season meetings between the Lions, but Lindenwood won the MIAA tournament contest 79-67 on Feb. 26.
- In the last game against Missouri Southern, Kallie Bildner posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. 
- In four career games against Missouri Southern, Lindsay Medlen has scored 56 points (14.0 points per game). Kallie Bildner has 48 points in three career games (16.0 points per game) and Sara Ross also has 48 points, but in five career games (9.6 points per game).
