Women's Volleyball Snaps Skid with Pair of Wins

TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW
Lindenwood women's volleyball opened the Midwest Crossover in Indianapolis, Ind. with a pair of wins. The Lions swept Purdue Northwest to open the day, and later took down Ohio Valley in four sets. Over the seven sets, Hannah Borchelt led the Lions with 22 kills. The pair of victories moves Lindenwood to 10-8 overall this season. 

NOTABLE
- In the opening match the Lions dominated Purdue Northwest at the net. Lindenwood posted 50 kills to PNW's 22 and held the edge in hitting percentage at .364 to .101.
- Hannah Borcelt led the match with 12 kills and took 16 swings without an error for a .750 attack percentage.
- Maider Sancho had 11 kills and an ace to go along with a .308 attack percentage. 
- Mackenzi Sifuentes notched eight kills and four blocks with a .467 attack percentage.
- Kat Finnerty tallied six kills on nine swings with an error for a .556 attack percentage.
- Sarah Stretch got the start at setter, responding with 40 assists in the three-set match. 
- Sara Wagenknecht anchored the defense with 13 digs.

- In the second match of the day, the Lions out-blocked Ohio Valley 11-5.
- Finnerty was the Lions' top scorer with eight kills and seven total blocks to go along with an ace. She also hit .500.
- Emma Englebrecht and Maider Sancho had 11 kills apiece to lead Lindenwood. Close behind were Hannah Borchelt and Mackenzi Sifuentes with 10 kills each. 
- Sarah Stretch continued to excel with 43 assists in the match. She also tacked on 13 digs for her first career double-double. 
- Sara Wagenknecht again led the Lions in digs with 18. 

UP NEXT
The Lions wrap up the Midwest Crossover with a match against Ursuline College. First serve is set for 12 p.m. (CT) in Indianapolis.
