The Lindenwood football team (1-3, 1-0 GLVC) will head to Lebanon, Ill. for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff against McKendree (1-3, 0-1 GLVC) in the NCAA Division II Football Showcase Game of the Week on Saturday.

The Lions and Bearcats are tied at 1-1 in the series history, as Lindenwood won the first meeting 35-27 in 1996 before McKendree won 33-0 the following year.  Lindenwood is coming off a loss to Davenport on Saturday, while McKendree won its first game of 2019 this past weekend.

Lindenwood is led by Cade Brister who ranks eight in the country with 78 points responsible for through four games.  Payton Rose is leading the GLVC with his five touchdown catches in his sophomore campaign.  The Lions are 12th in NCAA Division II with 96 first downs this season.

Freshman Spencer Redd has compiled 313 yards on kickoff returns, averaging 26.1 per return.  Drew Seers has amassed 39 tackles in four games, adding 1.5 tackles for loss, with one quarterback hurry.

The Bearcats are led by Turner Pullen who has accumulated 852 passing yards, 96 rushing yards, and 12 total touchdowns in his four games.  Matt Cole has hauled in 13 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns to lead the receiving core.

On the defensive side of the ball, Devon Myles and Jason Bennett have been all over the field.  Myles has 30 tackles so far, with two interceptions, and 1.0 tackles for loss.  Bennett has tallied 30 tackles as well, along with two interceptions, and 1.5 tackles for loss.
