Miller Scores in Defeat for Women's Soccer

The Lindenwood women's soccer team was defeated 3-1 by the UIndy Greyhounds on Friday afternoon in Indianapolis, Ind. Maggie Miller scored the lone goal of the game for the Lions.

MATCH OVERVIEW
Lindenwood took an early one-goal lead, scoring in the sixth minute to go up 1-0 on the home team. Mia Corrigan setup Miller for the score, putting the Lions up by a 1-0 margin.

However, the Lindenwood lead was short lived, as UIndy pulled even at 1-1 just 1:47 later. 

Unfortunately for the Lions, the Greyhounds added two more goals before the end of the first half, scoring in the 14th and 18th minutes of the match to take a commanding 3-1 lead into the intermission.

Lindenwood had four shots throughout the second half of the match, but was unable to cut into the UIndy lead, as the Greyhounds held on for the 3-1 victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Miller's goal was her team-leading second of the season.
- For Corrigan, the assist was the first helper and point of her collegiate career.
- Amanda Orlando was the other Lion in the match with a shot on goal.
- Megan Swanson started the game in goal for the Lions, turning in three total saves.
- Lindenwood attempted three corner kicks in the match, all of which came during the second half.
