The Lindenwood football team (2-3, 2-0 GLVC) remains undefeated in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after a 45-37 road win over McKendree (1-4, 0-2 GLVC) on Saturday in Lebanon, Ill.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Bearcats opened the game with a long touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead. Lindenwood immediately responded after
Cade Brister hit
Payton Rose for a 17-yard touchdown pass.Â
Nash Sutherlin ran hard all day and reached the end zone early in the second quarter to give the Lions a 14-7 lead. McKendree tied the game up after putting together a long 12-play drive to make it 14-14.

Brister immediately responded with a 57-yard touchdown pass to
Jaden Kohls on the third play of the drive, regaining a one-score lead. The Bearcats hit a field goal as time expired in the first half, resulting in a 21-17 lead at the break. Lindenwood continued the offensive momentum into the second half, as Sutherlin took a screen pass 56 yards for a touchdown on the opening drive.

McKendree stopped the bleeding with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, keeping the Bearcats within striking distance. Lindenwood continued to click on offense, as Brister found
Najee Jackson for a four-yard touchdown, making it a 35-24 advantage for the Lions. McKendree did not go away, and scored on back-to-back drive to take a 37-35 lead near the end of the third quarter.

Backup quarterback
Alex Faddoul came in and did not miss a beat, as he took the Lions on a nine-play 73-yard drive that was capped off with a 19-yard touchdown pass to
Glen Gibbons. The Lindenwood defense stood strong late in the game, as
Ricky McCoy picked off a pass in the fourth quarter to stop the talented McKendree offense.Â
Brett Garner was able to hit a 32-yard field goal to give the Lions a 45-37 lead. Lindenwood maintained its lead and held on for the road victory, staying undefeated in conference play.

The Lindenwood offense saw success in both the running and passing game. In the passing game, five different receivers caught a touchdown pass. Sutherlin and Kohls each tallied over 100 yards receiving in the game, with each registering a reception over 50 yards. Lindenwood compiled 110 yards on the ground and 489 yards through the air. On the defensive side of the ball,
Drew Seers went off for 17 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery.
