The Lindenwood men's soccer team was unable to match the offensive might of the No. 12 Bellarmine Knights during Sunday's GLVC Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match. The Lions wound up on the wrong end of an 8-2 decision in the match from Louisville, Ky.
MATCH OVERVIEW
The Knights wasted little time seizing control of the match, scoring in the fifth minute of the match. Bellarmine added two more scores during the opening half of play, as it carried a 3-0 edge into halftime.
Opening the second half, Bellarmine extended its lead to 4-0 in the 51st minute of play.

Luke McBeth for the Lions' first goal of the afternoon.
The Knights responded immediately, pouring in three straight goals over the next 3:31, growing their lead to a 7-1 margin.
Andres Gutierrez put a stop to the Bellarmine run, scoring for Lindenwood in the 63rd minute.
Joshua Scholl had the assist on the play for the Lions.
Bellarmine added one more goal before time expired, bringing the game to its final score of 8-2.
