GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood field hockey scored three goals to defeat rival Bellarmine 3-1 at Hunter Stadium on the program's senior day. The Lions opened the scoring early with a
Megan Martin goal at 1:47. The rest of the first half was scoreless, but the Lindenwood defense was solid against an aggressive Bellarmine attack. The Knights fired seven shots and earned six corners in the first half, but the Lions defense did not allow a goal. Goalie
Mackenzie Litterst had four saves in the first half.
The second half got off to a quick start with
Izzy Folan scoring in the 34th minute off a corner. Bellarmine scored their only goal of the game in the 48th minute, but Lindenwood responded in the 57th when
Pauline Terwindt flicked a corner over the Knight defenders to score the third and final goal of the game for the Lions.
With the win, the Lions rise to 10-6 this season.

The Lions play in the DII Independent Tournament at Bellarmine next weekend. Lindenwood will play NCAA DII Independent schools Bellarmine and Frostburg State in a three-team round robin. The first game for Lindenwood is Nov. 8 against Bellarmine.Â
