No. 6 Wrestling Competed in the Lindenwood Open on Saturday

The No. 6 Lindenwood wrestling team hosted the Lindenwood Open on Saturday in Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.  The Lions had four place winners across the two divisions at the annual open.
 
No. 9 Tanner Hitchcock finished in fifth place in the Gold Division, earning four wins on the day.  Hitchcock picked up two major decisions and two decisions in his six matches on Saturday.
 
Jack Tangen took sixth place in the Black Division, after being sent to the consolation bracket due to a 11-6 decision loss in the semifinal.  Tangen earned a spot in the semifinal after winning by a 14-2 major decision in the quarterfinal match.
 
Austin Landow took sixth place in the Black Division as well, earning four victories on the day.  Landow opened up with a pin at 2:54 in the first match.  Landow won his next three matches by decision, before falling in the semifinal match.
 
No. 1 Carlos Jacquez took sixth place in the Gold Division, as he won his second match by tech fall.  Jacquez lost his only match in the quarterfinal to his opponent from Division I Northwestern, before taking medical forfeits for the remainder of the tournament.

Keaton Fogler won the consolation championship in his weight class in the Black Division.  Fogler earned a pin at 2:11 in the semifinal match, before winning by a 2-0 margin in the conolation championship.
 
The Lions will return to action on Saturday, December 7 for the Drury Open in Springfield, Mo.
