Men's Basketball Wraps Up Calendar Year With Friday Matinee

Things to Know:
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team is set to conclude the 2019 calendar year with a non-conference matchup versus the Culver-Stockton Wildcats on Friday afternoon. Tip-off is slated for 2:30 p.m. inside Hyland Arena.


• During its most recent game on Dec. 17, Lindenwood rolled past Avila for a 97-75 win. The Lions hit 15 three-point field-goals, the most for the team in a game since Jan. 12, 2017, en route to their fifth win of the season.


• Dating back to 1980-81, Lindenwood and Culver-Stockton have matched up 38 times during the all-time series. The Lions hold a slight 20-18 lead during those 38 previous meetings, and have won each of the last nine matchups.


• Over its last three games, Lindenwood is averaging 97.6 points per game. On the season, the Lions are scoring 88.2 points per game, the highest per game scoring average in the GLVC.


• Lindenwood will resume its schedule following the New Year with a pair of GLVC home games on Jan. 2 and Jan. 4. The Lions will first host Missouri S&T on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m.


Lindenwood Notes
• TJ Crockett led all scored in the 97-75 win over Avila on Dec. 17 with his 24-point performance. Crockett connected on 9-of-17 from the field, including 3-of-6 3PFG.


• Crockett has now led the Lions in scoring six times this season, and has scored at least 20 points in all eight games this season.


• Crockett is currently averaging 26.6 points per game, which leads the GLVC and ranks fourth in NCAA Division II.


• Vijay Blackmon picked up his fourth consecutive game with at least 20 points as he recorded a 22-point effort (8-of-15 FG, 4-of-8 3PFG) during the win over Avila on Dec. 17.


• Blackmon continued to shoot it well from deep, raising his three-point field-goal percentage to 47.4 percent (9-of-19) over the last three games.


• Cameron Scales joined Blackmon and Crockett as the other two Lions to have at least three made three-point field-goals during the win over Avila.


• Scales finished the evening with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-7 from long-range. On the season, Scales ranks fourth in the GLVC in three-point field-goal percentage (46.5 percent).


• Scales secured seven rebounds versus Avila, finishing one behind Anthony Christian and Luka Radosevic, who each tallied eight boards in the game, for the team lead.


• Christian has picked up exactly eight rebounds in each of the last three games for the Lions, raising his season average to 5.1 rebounds per game.

• Lindenwood finished the game shooting 44.1 percent from three-point range (15-of-34). The 15 makes were the most in a game for the Lions since Jan. 12, 2017, a stretch of 82 games.


• Lindenwood won the rebounding battle for the third time this season, and the second time in as many games, holding a 43-29 edge on the glass.


• The Lions committed just 11 turnovers in the game, giving them seven games this season with 13 or fewer turnovers.


• Through its first eight games, Lindenwood has committed just 87 turnovers, leading the GLVC and ranking 11th in NCAA Division II in the category.
