#25 Lindenwood Notes
- Lindenwood travels to Hays, Kansas for the MIAA matchup of the week. First-place Fort Hays State hosts the second-place Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 14. Both teams have clinched a spot in the MIAA Championship in Kansas City, but are jockeying for first-round byes. #25 Lindenwood is in the midst of a three-game winning streak, while #4 Fort Hays State has won six in a row.
- The Lions are sixth in the NCAA in both field goal percentage (48.0%) and rebound margin (11.0). Lindenwood also ranks 31st in fewest fouls in NCAA DII with 333 fouls against this season.
- Individually,
Kallie Bildner is eighth in the NCAA in field goal percentage at 60.8&. She also is 21st in double-doubles with 11 and 30th in rebounds per game at 10.4.
- Bildner leads the MIAA in scoring (17.2 points per game), rebounding (10.4 per game) and field goal percentage (60.8%).
- With the win against Missouri Western, Lindenwood earned it's 10th MIAA win of the season and secured a spot in the MIAA Championship. It is the first time the Lions have won 10 games in an MIAA schedule.
- The Lions are led by first-year head coach
Katie Falco. She comes to Lindenwood after spending the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA DI South Dakota State.
#4 Fort Hays State Notes:
- The Tigers enter the week 21-1 overall and 12-1 in MIAA contests. They are riding a six game winning streak.
- Last week, Fort Hays State defeated Pittsburg State 78-53 and Missouri Southern 72-57. Both wins came on the road.
- The Tigers are led by Tatyana Legette, who scores 13.0 point per game with 8.5 rebounds per game. She is second to Bildner in the MIAA rebounding race.
- As a team, the Tigers lead the MIAA in scoring offense (78.2 points per game) and scoring defense (54.5 points allowed per game).
Series Notes:
- The Lions are 2-6 all-time against Fort Hays State, but won the last meeting between the two schools, the 2018 MIAA Championship game in Kansas City, Mo.
- In the 2018 MIAA Championship game, the ninth-seeded Lions upset the third-seeded Tigers to claim their first MIAA Championship.
Lindsay Medlen had 14 points and five rebounds for the Lions in the game.
