GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood men's basketball team (12-14, 5-9 MIAA) earned a 73-67 victory at Fort Hays on Thursday evening from Hays, Kan.
Chandler Diekvoss scored a game-high 23 points and collected 10 rebounds en route to his sixth double-double of the season to lead the Lions.
With 16:08 remaining in the first half, Lindenwood took an 8-7 lead, as Diekvoss hit one of his two free-throw attempts. Over the next 10 minutes, the Lions outscored the Tigers by a 21-9 margin, and established a commanding 28-16 lead with just over six minutes remaining. Fort Hays responded with a scoring run of its own, but Lindenwood entered halftime with a 37-31 edge.
The Lions protected their lead throughout the second half and never fell behind the Tigers. Diekvoss scored 13 of his 23 points in the second half to help Lindenwood snap its five-game losing skid.
